An agreement signed by all the parties and the mediator is an essential part of a mediation; the agreement provides a framework for the mediator’s appointment and the mediation meeting. By signing the agreement everyone is assured that they are participating in an agreed process and, importantly, one that it is confidential and without prejudice.
